Mass spectrometry and metabolite identification

In our lab, we use advanced mass spectrometry techniques to study plant metabolism. Our go-to instrument is the Orbitrap™ IQ-X™ Tribrid™, a high-resolution mass spectrometer with MSn capabilities. This allows us to analyze complex natural samples with high accuracy and identify unknown metabolites using MSn and fragmentation trees. We also collaborate with the metabolomics core facility at UCR for other types of analyses, such as proteomics, lipidomics, and some targeted approaches. Through this collaboration, we can gain a more comprehensive understanding of plant metabolism.
